Dinner Ticket

Paladar is a word we learned on a trip to Cuba not long after Jay and I first started dating. This was the name for restaurants hosted inside of private homes, a wonderful concept that blurs the lines of a dinner party with a meal out. We started hosting our own Paladar dinners in 2015 at locations around the desert, first out in Wonder Valley, then behind our OIL SHOP and later one at our home. This is our first Paladar since the pandemic and we can’t wait to host you again, this year at A-Z West.

What to expect

Get ready for a night full of delicious food, music and conversation with friends new and old. The evening will start with a cocktail hour where you can sip on sparkling water, wine, or cocktails in the former house of artist Andrea Zittel. Later we’ll gather around the dining table to share an family style meal by chef Greg Arnold, the menu with have a Mediterranean influence with an abundance of seasonal California produce and our Olive Oil in every dish. The menu will have gluten-free options and vegetarian options, however the main courses will include fish and meat.

Location

The event will be hosted in Joshua Tree at A-Z West, the beautiful home and studio of celebrated artist Andrea Zittel.

About the Chef

Greg Arnold is one of our favorite chefs. Cortez, where Greg was the head chef, was our go-to date night when we lived in LA. It had absolutely beautiful small plates and a rotating menu that boasted the most perfect peak-season produce from California with Mediterrean influences. You may also know Greg from Mesa Verde Restaurant, or perhaps his company, Dark Horse organics, which offered small batch outrageously delicious pantry items, all heavily Japanese inspired.
