FAQ

Olive oil contains fatty acids like oleic acid that act as emollients, penetrating the hair shaft to restore moisture and softness without stripping the hair of its natural oils. Its antioxidants and antimicrobial properties nourish the scalp and can prevent issues like dandruff.

Olive oil supports a healthy scalp environment through its potency in antioxidants and nutrients like Vitamin E, which is conducive to hair growth. We would not directly say olive oil causes regrowth. If you are looking for support with hair regrowth, we suggest Rosemary Oil. There are numerous peer-reviewed studies on its impact on healthy hair regrowth, which is why we used it as a key ingredient in our Rosemary Hair Oil.

Non-toxic shampoos and conditioners are formulated with a focus on safety and clean ingredients, conscientiously avoiding known harmful chemicals: parabens, sulfates, silicones, formaldehyde, synthetic dyes, or perfumes.

If you've been feeding your hair chemical-heavy products and then suddenly make the switch to nontoxic formulas, you may experience a transitional period of detox. Typically, a detox period can last up to 1 month before the unmistakable shine of a healthy head of hair begins to surface. Not everyone experiences a detox period, and it’s subjective to your previous routine and products, the main aggravators being parabens, sulfates, silicones, and synthetic fragrances. Some people experience this as hair feeling dry, oily, or flaky. This is a perfectly normal response and a sign that your system is doing exactly what it should be doing: repairing damage.

The Rosemary Hair Oil is not pregnancy-safe, as rosemary can be “uterine contraction” causing. It is considered to be a risk mainly for ingested rosemary, but there’s not enough data to support safe topical use; therefore, we do not recommend it for pregnant women. Our shampoo and conditioner use a safe, non-toxic alternative to parabens as a preservative system. One of the ingredients is Ethylhexylglycerin, which is less than 0.1% of the overall formula. We do not claim them as pregnancy or breastfeeding-safe on the product pages because of this ingredient and recommend you speak to your doctor to ensure it’s a good fit for you. The founder of Wonder Valley, Alison, used these products during her pregnancy and breastfeeding and deemed them safe to use for herself.
